This charming piece is hand-pierced in the old sunburst design, very popular during the Early American lighting period.  The design is pierced using a point punch and lamp maker's chisel.  Not surprisingly, this very versatile light is a popular favorite with our Stone House customers.
The Witches Hat Downlight is particularly appropriate wherever downlight is needed but space is limited.  Some places for a downlight in your decor might be over a landing, breakfast nook, kitchen sink or small table, or perhaps to highlight a small display or arrangement.
Anywhere accent light and/or functional downlight is needed, the Witches Hat Downlight is an excellent choice. It is a charming companion light when used to complement a Witches Hat Chandelier.

The dimmer switch is also recommended here to achieve a full range of atmospheres. Make your downlight bright and functional or create an understated warm candlelight glow that will illuminate through the delightful pierced pattern.
The top loop and finial are drawn and soldered directly to the cone, and a solid forming wire is turned into the bottom edge of the pierced cone. These traditional methods of construction make this downlight extremely sturdy.
