The detail photo on this page depicts the top and bottom cone being "joined" together.  The horizontal seam is being "set" using a bick iron stake and tinners hammer.

This chandelier has a larger diameter for rooms approximately 14 X 14 feet square or larger.  If this larger version of the Classic Double Cone Chandelier (Plain) is to be used over a large table, this diameter would also be appropriate in a slightly smaller room.

If you will be using this chandelier or any of the others in the Stone House Collection where it will be subject to walk-under traffic, the current standard would be to allow for a minimum of 78" clearance.  It is a fairly well known fact that the general population during the Early American lighting period were of a much shorter stature.  Therefore if you are dealing with lower ceilings, there is really no aesthetic or historical reason as to why the chandelier could not be hung lower.  It would, however, be prudent to forewarn your taller visitors.
