Visit "The Stone House" where you'll find Steve Malaney, master tinsmith since 1987, plying his ageless craft using antique tools in the traditional methods employed by tinsmiths in the 1700 and 1800's. Steve individually handcrafts each piece of colonial period lighting; his specialties are candle and electrified "pierced tin" or "punched tin" chandeliers and sconces. At "The Stone House", we believe chandeliers are a special focal point for any room. And, sconces, too, are a versatile source of lighting, pairs or singly. Working in his shop nestled between Shade and Jacks Mountains in central Pennsylvania, he meticulously shapes, punches, solders and hand rubs the final finish on each piece until he is completely satisfied with every detail before he signs and dates it. We know you will be just as satisfied, too.
Steve & his wife Noreen work together to keep "The Stone House" running in a mannerly fashion.
While Steve "carries on" in the shop...keeping alive the centuries-old art of tinsmithing, Noreen assumes the role of his clerical assistant. Enjoy our site as you go back in time to choose the lighting to perfectly complement your home!
Hide not your talents, they for use were made. What's a
sundial in the shade?
